Scott Wilson ha realizzato un progetto per due Nano watch multitouch che dovrebbero chiamarsi TikTok e LunaTik, ma non aveva i soldi per realizzarli.

Allora ha pubblicato il progetto su Kickstarter (un sito su cui si possono pubblicare le proprie idee in cerca di investitori) sperando di trovare qualcuno che credesse nella sua idea e chiedendo un minimo di 15.000 dollari per dare il via alla produzione. Beh, il designer ha raccolto ben 941.000 dollari (!!!) grazie all’investimento di oltre 13.500 utenti.

Il sito Kickstarter, in due parole, si propone di aiutare quelli che potremmo chiamare amichevolmente 'geni squattrinati', i quali propongono la propria idea innovativa ad utenti sostenitori che donano fondi al fine di supportare lo sviluppo del progetto. Per ora funziona solo negli USA (ma dai!) ed ha delle condizioni ben precise, come spiega il sito stesso nella presentazione (che trovate, in lingua originale, di seguito):

"Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. Every month, tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, film, art, technology, design, food, publishing and other creative fields.
